Tokyo Yosakoi Festival(東京よさこい) was held at
Ikebukuro(池袋), Sugamo(巣鴨), Mejiro(目白), Otsuka(大塚) station plaza
in Tokyo on the 12-13th of October 2013.
This festival was held 14 times, as of 2013.
More than 100 teams take part in this festival and contest with each other for a prize.
Every team enthusiastically practices Yosakoi dance for this day.
In my opinion, Yosakoi features are as follows
- Dance with loud music and voice
- Combination of synchronized dynamic move and stationary move
- Splendid Kimono and Change its color at a moment
- Swing huge flags with team’s name at the back of dancers
On that day, I just hang around Ueno to Sugamo,
but luckily I happened to see this festival.
I took some videos.
I put my most favorite video, Housei University team, here.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t get any awards.
But, I love their dance which makes me energetic.
